There are so many places that you could look into for buying a property to stay in when you have the time and I am only going to list a few of the destinations that would suit different kinds of people.

Like To Keep Busy

If you are like a lot of people and want to stay in an area where you are going to be busy all of the time then I would look at getting a place in Florida. If you like to keep busy then this is the place to get your holiday home simply because there are endless things to do here. This has to be home to the biggest selection of Theme Parks on the planet so you will likely never get bored. The hardest part is picking a favourite, I do not think I could even begin to pick out my favourite from all of the Disney parks alone let alone the others. The state also has a lot of nature to offer you can you can take a hot air balloon ride or perhaps go around the swamps. The great thing about Florida is that in the evenings you can sit back and relax round the pool and then go out for some really tasty foods. Of course you are going to need your insurance for holiday homes

Quiet Type?

On the opposite end of the scale we have the people that go away to sit around the pool during the day and then go out for a nice meal in the evening, how about looking at one of the Canary islands. One of the quietist is Lanzarote because the population is friendly, keep to themselves and you hardly ever see any trouble there. There are still things to do on the island when you get a bit bored like go and take a tour of the volcano, that is a truly unforgettable experience.

Of course the alternatives are endless with other properties available all over the world, make sure you have overseas property insurance or if your thinking about a cottage you get out holiday cottage insurance.

Festivals in Lanzarote in 2010

Thinking of booking a holiday in Lanzarote this year?  Plenty of other tourists did just that during the course of 2009, with the island welcoming just under 1.4 million tourists last year.  An impressive figure given the impact of the credit crunch and the weakness of the pound.

Despite these factors around 750,000 tourists from the UK are expected to visit the island during the course of 2010.  Around half of them will book self catering accommodation – such as villas in Lanzarote – direct online.  With many booking specific dates to coincide with one of the many fiestas and festivals that take place on the island every year.

For independent tourists there are a whole host of Lanzarote villa accommodation available at sensible prices during the summer or winter months.

Carnaval kicks off in February and is arguably the most colourful celebration of the year.  This fiesta has its roots in Roman history – as well as the traditions of Lent.  And has long been seen as an excuse for letting your hair down before the upcoming period of abstinence.  The event is staggered so it takes place at different times in different parts of the island.  With the most riotous celebrations reserved for the capital city of Arrecife and the largest resort of Puerto del Carmen.

May sees the arrival of over 1000 super fit athletes on the island.  As the annual Iron Man contest gets underway.  This is widely regarded as one of the hardest events of its kind in the world.  Entrants have to swim 3km, cycle 180km and then finish all of that off with a full marathon.  Many don’t even make the finish line but for the top 60 a place in the Grand Final in Hawaii beckons – along with a slice of the ,000 prize money.

Many music lovers plan their visit around the Jazz Canarias festival in July.  Which in previous years has featured some of the leading emerging talents of this genre.  Such as the prodigious young jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding and the guitarist Kyle Eastwood –offspring of the famous actor Clint Eastwood.

When the annual Costa Musica Festival takes place on the beach at Playa Bastian in the resort of Costa Teguise.  Featuring an eclectic mix of live dance acts and DJ´s from across Europe.
