RV Camping is Growing in Popularity

January 21st, 2010

Camping is a sort of vacation that one knows when one sees it, but few define the experience quite the same way.  What comes to mind when you think of this? Walking in a forest or trekking over sand dunes? Do you recall when you were a child and were able to pitch a tent on your lawn and have several buddies come over? Times were never better.

Kids hanging out with other kids and telling ghost stories around the campfire while everyone pretends they are not really scared made going to summer camp a neat experience. Admitting your fear would weaken your image and could lead to ridicule. As well as planning your revenge for the year before, you are already thinking about the camping gear you may need for next summer

Maybe your family has had camping in an RV on their minds, and would like to get away for a camping trip. Whatever your plan is make sure that you check your route for available campgrounds. You might need to contact them to learn whether you’ll require reservations prior to leaving, thus, you’ll be sure you’ve got a camping spot. There are many good reasons to travelling in small travel trailers these days and flexibility is one of many.

If you plan on RV camping, make sure to find out if any locations you want to camp have restrictions. Maybe there is day use only and they have no overnight accommodations available or even allow motorized vehicles of any kind. Planning this way will help lessen some of the problems along the way, should they come up, and leave you only to answer the kids when they ask, “Are we there yet?” Before you decide to go, choose a campground that has ammenities the whole family will enjoy.

Something may go wrong or happen unexpectedly, despite all your planning. This is why RV traveling is advantageous. You already have all the equipment that you need, if you are unable to find a family campground or anything else acceptable. With an RV you can make a choice to keep searching for a campground or call it a night and continue your trip in the morning. What would be greater than a fresh adventure daily? There is no question the children will have the time of their lives. A light weight travel trailer is sure to make your journey a great one!

Lasting Memories Can Be Made Of Camping In Beautiful NC

January 21st, 2010

Camping in North Carolina offers spectacular natural beauty. There are also historical towns full of charm. The state borders Tennessee on the west, Virginia in the north and Georgia and South Carolina in the south. Trails for hikers, bikers and horses are available. Gorges, mountains, forests, waterfalls and other scenic natural sites abound.

How to decide the camp location

You can refine your options by deciding what kind of camping experience you want. Do you want to go traditional and rough it? Do you want showers and potable water available? Are rented cabins more suitable? Is an RV park a consideration? Are you interested in enjoying seasonal events as well?

Tips to consider

Research is critical. Spend a little time on the computer or the phone to save yourself from unexpected surprises. The state of North Carolina offers very useful resources to help you plan your trip. Other websites can also be used to expand your research.

For those choosing a tent camping option in the national parks, here’s something to remember about how to hold your position. Set up a tent; and do not use any objects to make your claim to a choice spot. Only tents are acceptable devices for stake claiming.

Locating the destination of choice

There is an array of informative websites to help you find your campground of choice. General sites or specific sites like those for national and state parks or individual websites for the various camping grounds. Please keep in mind that if tent camping is your choice, there is a book that has greater detail. The book’s title is:The Best In Tent Camping: The Southern Appalachian & Smoky Mountains. It lists many known and unknown sites(depending on the prospective camper’s familiarity with the state), such as the Linville Falls Campground in Spruce Pine, NC; Camping & Cabins on Cape Lookout National Seashore in Harkers Island, NC; Mount Mitchell State Park in Asheville, NC and many other possible destinations. No matter how choosy the camper this book illustrates that there are savory offerings available.

How to make the most of your experience

Think ahead. Plan and prepare. You will have a camping vacation that memories are made of with just a little forethought.
