A perfect spot for romantic getaways

January 25th, 2010

Aqua city, Venus Fort, and Rainbow Bridge.  While they may sound like the settings for the next big battle of 21st century superheroes, they are in actuality just 3 of the attractions which have made Tokyo’s Odaiba one of the town’s most frequented destinations.

Odaiba stands on 2 of 6 islands that the Togukawa shogunate built and fortified to guard Tokyo bay from Western intrusion, which arrived in the person of Commodore Matthew Perry in 1853.  It received its name from the Japanese word ‘daiba,’ for fort.  When Japan experienced its enormous economic boom in the early 1980s, the third and 6th of the fortified islands were extended, and named Tokyo Teleport Town for the ultramodern business town which was to be created on them.

The industrial boom went bust {, however ,} and in the 1990s, new plans allowing Odaiba to be commercially developed saw it quickly inhabited by the entertainment and commercial ventures which make it such a massive draw today.  Among Odiaba’s most electrifying attractions are the reproduction of France’s Statue of liberty wtching over its Aqua city shopping mall ; Venus Fort, another shopping mall built to seem like eighteenth-century Venice ; and Oedo Onsen Monogatari, an Edo-period style showering park built around a 1400-metre deep hot spring.

The Odiaba Kaihin Park, near the Rainbow Bridge and the possessor of one of Tokyo’s 2 sand beaches, is a favorite spot for romantic assignations, but swimming in Tokyo’s less-than-pristine bay isn’t recommended.  For the scientifically inclined, Odaiba has the Miraikan, Japan’s Museum of emerging Science and creativity, the Fuji TV Building, and the Toyota Mega Web.

Accessing Odaiba from either the Rainbow Bridge or the Yurikamome raised train will afford visitors some splendid perspectives of Tokyo Bay.

The park-like grounds and non-public waterfront balconies of the five-star Odaiba Nikko Hotel, the first built on Odaiba, offer visitors an escape from the bustle of Tokyo with its.  The Odaiba Nikko is an ideal spot for romantic getaways.

Getaways are meant to take an individual away from all the hurly and burly of life to polish peace and tranquility.  The ultimate getaway holiday can therefore be at a place where you embrace the wonderful thing about nature in complete serenity.  The paradigm example of this is Japan where visitors themselves have discovered countless pretty getaways.  So lets have a look at some of the popular and ideal getaways in the land of rising sun.
Some frequently visited getaways in the Japan are like this :

Hagi- it is a nice historic primitive Samurai and castle city in the rural Japan.  It is located near the western end of the Honshu Island.  Hagi has some of the wonderful museums and beaches.  The Joka- Machi old samurai quarter is worth visitng in Hagi.  Besides this the Kumaya Art Mueseum, the Kasuga Shrine near Joka Machi and the Sho-in Shrine are the must visit sites in Hagi.

Idzumo is one amongst the 4 most critical Shinto shrines of Japan.  It’s also called the home of gods.  The shrine has incredible historical significance.

Sekigane is also a wonderful japanese getaway.  It is a tiny town which has hot water springs and coastal mountains.  At the end of this tiny but calm and wonderful town is a walk up through bamboo groves to Kamei Park.

The Kyoto Fu spur is a little promontory that makes a great getaway.  In order to reach this peninsula you want to drive from Kumihama to Mineyama, Omiya and Miyazu.  On the south of Omiya there’s a small shrine that too is religiously and historically quite heavy.

The Wakasa Wan ( Bay ) is another brilliant getaway.  The Wakasa dismal national Park is reasonably popular here.

The Obama Bay that stretches to the Oshima Peninsula is also a brilliant getaway.  Similarly the Tsunegami Hanto Peninsula which has Rocky Mountains is also worth visiting.

you may go to see the Tojimbo Cliffs.  These are found on a point of the Echi-zen Kaigan ( coast ) nationwide Park.  It is a favored holiday maker attraction because of its exotic beauty.  If you visit here do not forget to go to the little fishing town, Anto nearby.

The Central Mountains of Honshu Island are a large lure to visitors.  This island has a collection of diverse mountains known as Central Alps.  It’s a great delight and lifetime chance to see these world famous ice-capped mountains.

The Shiwaku Shoto Islands are a grouping of islands near Oakayama that has many tiny collections of islands in the Inland Sea.  Hon-Jima and Mukkuchi-Jima islands make desirous getaways.

apart from these the place of Hokkaido in Japan is acknowledged as a top romantic getaway.  Similarly there are more keen getaways like Ikspiari, Vinus Fort, Lover’s Cape and Kobe Portpia.

But this is just the tip of an iceberg for there are plenty of other known and waiting to be discovered getaways in Japan.
