After i had said that these animals all lived in Canada, everyone looked at me like i was weird. It did feel as though not many of the people I asked even knew where Canada was.
I was having a discussion with a friend one day about Polar Bears, when I told him that they lived also in Canada, he looked at me funny. I then had to take him to a computer and show him the Polar bear Capital of the world. Churchill is where a mass of Polar bears all pass through to get to where they want to settle. There are about 15,000 polar bears in North Canada, probably more than many people think. There are around twelve hundred Polar Bears that traipse through the Town of Churchill each year at fall.
Now we come to the cunning weasel, and to be honest for me the main reason these animals are so great is simply because I think there is no other that can be collectively called a Boogle! In fact Weasels can be found almost all over the world, with Australia and Antarctica as the exception. The Weasel is considered by many to be a cunning creature and is found all over Canada, they eat small rodents. Those that consider them vermin couldn’t be more wrong, especially when they help to dispose of rats and rabbits, much like ferrets.
This one is quite an obvious one, or at least I thought so, almost all of the people i asked didn’t know that it lived in Canada, maybe it is just the people i asked? The Biggy is the Walrus, now when you think that they have measured up to six and a half metres they are a bit bigger than a Polar bear. The Walrus hase very large and strong Ivory tusks that are used in nasty conflict and to scare off any predators. They were once in trouble of becoming extinct, but since laws have been introduced to stop their being hunted, their population has recently boomed.
So does any of this make you want to go on Canada holidays, I am off on Vancouver holidays all next year, and will be taking as many pictures of animals and wildlife as possible, Canada tours are my forte!
