If you don’t want to cook under the sky, you still have access to packaged food nearby. These are great for caravan travelers.

Family resorts – Camping resorts have also developed as family holiday sites. Special outdoor activities are planned for children too. Usually, these types of resorts offer treasure hunts, hobby classes on various outdoor subjects for family bonding. Children can learn a lot during these kinds of holidays while adults chill out.

Several family camping resorts offer club membership plans giving you discounts and other benefits for staying at one of their properties once every year.

When going for an outdoor holiday, do take a camping toilet along. It may not give you the comfort of your daily washroom but can still make your holiday hassle-free.Here are some ideas to help you choose a good camping toilet.

Always go for a unit that can be easily folded up and carried separately in a backpack with your other camping gear. It should be compact enough to not be a burden, not require use of water which is not freely available at campsites and of course be odor free.

The best kind of camping toilets are the ones that require the use of disposable bags. Some units also come with pop-up smaller privacy tents that you can set up nearby. Always buy bags from a good manufacturer because while camping out, it is your duty to contribute to maintaining the environment at the campsite.

Usually waste disposable bags are patented. Always buy bags that are environment-friendly and biodegradable. A special powder is used with the bags to check the odor. Some bags are big enough to be used at least three times but they are cheap enough to be disposed off after one use only. The toilet paper can also be disposed off inside the bag too.

When purchasing camping toilet units on the Internet ensure the usual security features of privacy. Look for guarantee offers and return policy features too. In fact, before you purchase a toilet unit, you can find out if your tent will be placed near the camping site toilet or not. Trudging alone to a campsite toilet in the middle of the night may not be a good idea.

If you don’t buy a full camping toilet unit, you can easy assemble one at home with a chair or just decide to use the human disposable bags. For these, to check the odor, you will need to use sawdust and cat litter.

The craze for camping out has only grown over the last two years with both fitness and New Age gurus speaking emphatically about the importance of spending time with Nature. Going from your workplace and home air-conditioning to hotel-room air-conditioning can never match the experience of spending your holidays beneath a star-studded sky.

Whether traveling alone, with a group of friends or family, a campground or camping  site/location is easy to find from directory listings but safety should be your top  priority. Look for camping locations near your home particularly if you are going on a  camping holiday for the first time. If you call up a club offering camping holidays, ask  them about what security features they provide you.

Price, of course, will be a crucial deciding factor for your holiday. Many campgrounds that do not have options for outdoor activities charge a smaller admission and camping fee.

In fact, camping has developed as a popular family option so you can also pick campgrounds that facilitate extra activities like hobby classes and options for hiking. Some camping locations also offer boating and swimming if they are near lakes and rivers. Most camping locations are stopover points on a hiking or cycling trail. You can choose to go on a hiking or cycling holiday and combine a mid-way camping break with it too.

Maybe, you don’t intend to camp out much and are doing it on friends’ insistence or haven’t made up your mind yet. In that case, buying camping equipment like tents, campfire cooking items, flashlights etc can be an unnecessary purchase. You can choose camping locations where they let you borrow these things on a small payment.

At some camping locations you can have the added advantage of choosing your own site but  at others you will be assigned one. Many camping locations have their own websites too  and you can run an Internet search to help you decide better.
