A doctor that moved to Australia without knowing where he was going!

February 11th, 2010

Now Australia wants some more skilled jobs to come into their nation, no longer will those that are just getting into the country for “simple” jobs be allowed to do so. The more skilled and professional jobs including IT technicians and emergency staff are being requested. Is there another country in the world that has had an overwhelming demand for chefs and hairdressers.

A country that is in desperate need of hairdressers and cooking skills has something else to worry about, probably their sanity? They were inundated with applications for these two courses totalling over 10 thousand. Now they have removed them from the list of occupational skills and will not be accepting any more people from even educational background.

However this is straying off the point a little, I have never heard of anyone taking a leap of faith and moving to a country that they have never visited before! For some people if things are getting really bad in your current surroundings, then you might be tempted to do something compulsive like that. Well one man has done that, and now he regrets it.

A doctor that was once living in the UK, decided it was best to move out after his divorce. Having never been to Australia before, he still believed that travelling thousands of miles to get away from home was the best idea! Well things didn’t progress as expected. I am not really surprised, although the guy didn’t really miss his wife all that much, he didn’t like Australia all that much either. This was one of the hottest summers in Australia as well, and you will never guess what, our Doctor was not at all keen on hot weather.

It is probably not the best idea to leave your last job on a bad and out of tune note, in fact this would really cause things to go really bad, returning wouldn’t be much of an option. He is still in Australia, stuck where he arrived, attempting to change his current destination, but not to come back to the UK. Oh dear, maybe before he travelled away he should have tried Australia holidays or maybe he should have just taken a day trip on Sydney holidays!

Relaxation central in Australia

January 25th, 2010

The Gold Coast in Australia is known as the day spa & massage capital of Australia. With over 100 massage and day spa providers, the Gold Coast is home to some of the best companies for relaxation beauty and massage treatments in Australia. These vary considerably in style and structure.

For example many of the larger hotels will have day spas attached, including steam rooms, saunas, spas and a wide variety of massage treatments. These are often more costly than other companies – but granted – they do boast the luxury of often plush surroundings and treatments like float tanks, where the client’s body is suspended in high salt water in a darkened tank, designed to relax and soothe.

Day spas also can offer a variety of massages not otherwise available on the Gold Coast, such as hot stone, pregnancy and Indian Head Massage. There are also smaller businesses that offer massage services on the Gold Coast. These are usually independent therapists that work in their local region, sometimes unqualified and uninsured. Usually they are cheaper than the larger day spas but offer a more limited range of services.

These massage therapists typically offer remedial or relaxation Swedish massage treatments, often out of smaller rooms attached to a hair dressers or beauty salon. An excellent alternative to these are mobile Gold Coast massage therapists like Ripple, who offer a wide range of day spa treatments to clients in the privacy of their hotel rooms.

Ripple Massage’s website has much information on Gold Coast massage therapists and is the one mobile massage therapy business in Australia that also offers specialised pregnancy massage to its clients.

Some companies only offer the standard one hour Swedish or Remedial massage treatments in the Gold Coast region. However Ripple Gold Coast Massage is a little bit different in that it offers styles of massage you do not find in other places in Australia, such as chocolate, Russian, Vietnamese Four Hands and Sea Shell massage.

The Gold Coast has long been known as a region for relaxation, so it is not surprising that massage and day spa is popular here. The Gold Coast was a fabulously popular holiday destination for servicemen returning from World War II. In the 1950’s the Gold Coast Region had grown and the 1960’s and 1970’s saw the developers undertake a lot of high rise development.

Surfers Paradise was also known for its glamorous ‘Meter Maids’ in gold bikinis who fed parking meters by the beach to prevent holiday makers from getting parking fines. The hi-rise boom continued right through the 1970s and it became Australia’s premier family holiday destination. It was then that the day spas started to be built, along with the theme parks and it became known for its massage treatments.

Tthe Gold Coast today is one of Australia’s favourite holiday destinations for families looking to visit the theme parks, escape to the beach and indulge in some relaxation day spa treatments.

Most of the colonists were convicted wise guys from Great Britain. Gold was discovered shortly afterward and Australia changed into a destination for immigrants seeking fortune and a new start in life.

On the far northern coast, Australia is home to one of the amazing sites in the world.  The great barrier reef is a water fans dream.  With awesome plant life, the reef is world famous as a diver’s paradise.  A watchful eye is advised given the presence of the Great White Shark in the area.

Australia is a Commonwealth.  The Fed. powers are mapped somewhat after those in the U.  S.  , but no bill of rights exists. Unlike the U.S, the individual territories retain serious authority over their own affairs.

folk in Australia are called’Australians.’ The country has a population of just over 20,000,000, and the population is growing at a rate of 1.1 % a year.  Australians ethnicity is 92 p.c EU, six p.c Asian and 2 percent Aboriginal.  No religion dominates, but twenty-seven % of Australians considered themselves Roman Catholics.  Life expectancy for males is 78 years while females live to 83 on average . Australia was frequently considered the forgotten country.  Long distance transportation modified that designation. Now it is one of the hottest holiday maker destinations year in and year out.
