Break Away To A Place Where There Is Fun In The Sun

March 18th, 2010

When the year draws to an end, we all know the feeling of tiredness that can creep over you. A year is a long time. During the past year you have probably been through a lot of experiences. In the current economic downturn you might have developed financial problems. Perhaps you even had to use a debt consolidation service to help you get out of debt again. If you are a trader, you might have spent a year in front of a computer waiting for the one forex signal that will at last bring that perfect trade. At the end of the day the pressures of daily life get too much. You need to break away, to find your laptop bag and store away the laptop. To rejuvenate yourself in a way nothing else can do in quite the same way as traveling does.

There are few things in life that will infuse you with new vigor as three weeks in a totally strange place. Preferably a place where you don’t even understand the language. Where a simple thing like buying a hamburger can become an intricate series of gestures and attempts to find the right word in the dictionary.

Traveling has a way to take your mind away from the troubles you left behind like little else on earth. When you travel to a far-off place you are confronted with so many new things every day, that you have no time to dwell on the problems back at the office.

When you travel to a foreign place, it’s sometimes the small things that are different that will occupy your mind every day. The fact that they seem to wear a little less clothes than the people back home. Or that they eat their food with sticks. Or maybe they talk very loudly and boisterously – enjoy live in an unrestrained way you never thought possible.

To travel is to broaden your mind like very few other things can ever manage. You will learn that there is not just one way to do things. That you don’t always need the most expensive car and the biggest house to be happy. Somewhere on your travels you will meet people with little earthly possessions who are happier than you could ever imagine.

If you travel often, to many different places, you will in the end be able to look at your own country, its people and even your own life as an outsider. To see things in perspective again.

The things that seemed so important to you in your own life only a few short weeks ago, might suddenly seem trivial. You might lose prejudices you had for a lifetime, but you will gain perspective that you never had.
