Totally Disney – Totally Fun!

August 31st, 2011

This is the year– the year you take the kids to Disney World for an Orlando vacation. Why not make it more exciting–and easier on you, the vacation planner–by staying at a Disney hotel in Orlando? Disney World goes all out to please its guests, including offering a three-tiered lodging system designed to fit any family’s budget.

Deluxe Villas and Resorts

The highest tier is the “deluxe.” Deluxe villas and resort hotels feature larger rooms (some with kitchens or kitchenettes), full service restaurants with 24-hour room service, spas and salons,

themed pools, playgrounds and game rooms. Paid valet parking is available. For a fee (and with advanced registration) you can take advantage of supervised programs for children 3-12, which allow mom and dad to enjoy a date night, or just some quiet time. Each hotel is organized around a theme. Choose from Animal Kingdom, Boardwalk, the Wilderness Lodge, the Polynesian Resort, and others.

Moderate Hotels

Moderate hotels differ from the deluxe in several areas. You don’t have a spa, salon, or valet parking, and the rooms tend to be smaller. Depending on the hotel you choose, you may have access to childcare programs or a full-service restaurant, so choose accordingly. Moderate hotels are also theme based. You can stay in a cabin at Fort Wilderness, enjoy the beach at Coronado Springs, or immerse yourself in Creole culture in Port Orleans–among other options.

Value Resorts

These are the least expensive of the Disney hotels, and eminently affordable. Each features a food court, pools and game rooms, while the All-Star Music Resort provides suites which can accommodate up to six people–a plus when families with more than two children don’t want to pay for two rooms. There are five large value hotels: the All-Star Music, All-Star Movie, All-Star Sports, Art of Animation and Pop Century resorts.

Why Go Disney?

No matter which Disney hotel in Orlando you choose, you’ll receive the same great service. You’ll enjoy complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport and the parks. Souvenir purchases can be conveniently delivered to your room, your dining plan takes the guesswork out of meals and, with your resort id, and you’re entitled to extended hours at selected parks. Disney staff is renowned for their friendly, helpful, expert customer service; you’ll feel pampered and cared for throughout your stay. Make your Orlando vacation a dream come true and go Disney all the way!

More flights mean more holiday opportunities in Lanzarote

December 8th, 2009

With the launch of new Aer Lingus flights to the popular Canary Island of Lanzarote, it’s the perfect time for an sunny getaway. British holidaygoers well appreciate the sunny climate of this beautiful island. As of October 25th 2009, the well known airline has started running flights between Gatwick and Lanzarote’s Arrecife airport three days a week, making year-round sunshine, stunning scenery and cheap Lanzarote hotels even more accessible than before.

The new route announcement follows news earlier in the year that the Spanish government will be offering discounts on airport taxes to airlines meeting certain criteria when flying to Spanish destinations. The new flights are the government’s latest attempt to fuel the thriving tourism economy, both on the islands and Spanish mainland. The tourism in Lanzarote, like many other European destinations, was hit hard last year after the turbulent down turn in the economy. Its airport saw a reduction of 3.3% in December 2008 compared with the same time the previous year, which raised concerns about the health of local tourism.

The new route between London and Lanzarote will no doubt be well received. Similarly, it is great news for eager sun-seekers too, as holidaymakers have the chance to enjoy a paradise island break at an affordable price. The prices for the new flights start at an affordable £34.99 one way, making it a great choice for your next holiday in the sun. There are great deals on Lanzarote hotels at the moment, making the holiday even more attractive. A bungalow for two in a four star resort, for example, costs as little as £14 per person per night this October, while all-inclusive hotels in Lanzarote can be found for around £27. So, with troubled financial times meaning great deals both in the air and on the ground, an autumn sunshine break is well within reach this year.
