Top Events at Universal Studios during Christmas

November 10th, 2011

There are lots of exciting events at both of the Universal theme parks, so we’ve brought you the best of the best.  Don’t forget that there’s two parks here — Universal and Islands of Adventure.  The latter is where the Harry Potter World of Wizardry will enchant you both at holiday time, and throughout the year.

Macy’s Holiday Parade

In Universal Studios, they’re holding the parade’s 10th anniversary bash with floats and balloons directly from Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.  There are marching bands, Santa Claus, and clowns.  Everything is included with regular admission but a two day pass is recommended so you can enjoy both parks. Special Tip: Many guests find that if they purchase an Orlando Vacation Hotel package deal that this helps them save money. To visit the Macy’s Holiday Parade all you need is your regular theme park admission ticket

This is an area which is great to explore at Christmas time.  They have delicious treats, unique gifts, and kids’ crafts.  There’s also a holiday party with the Mannheim Steamroller performing live on Saturdays and Sundays in December.

Grinchmas at Seuss Landing

In Islands of Adventure, it’s been transformed into a Winter wonderland.  There’s a terrific live show with the Grinch, a Wonky Tree lot, Whos strolling around, and a photo opportunity with the Grinch himself.

Islands of Adventure

There’s a lot happening here at Christmas.  You can visit with the Grinch and Friends at his Character Breakfast.  Reservations and tickets are required at this one, so be sure to book early. It’s a priceless holiday memory and you will have the photos to show friends all year long.  Selected dates in this area are December 1st through 4th, 8th through the 12th, the 15th through the 19th, and the 21st through the 31st.  Annual pass holders get a 15% discount  and preferred pass holders get a 10% one.

During this holiday time you’ll meet the Grinch in person and have fun shaking his hand, and having your photo taken with the green one himself.  A park map will explain all of the different times for these wonderful extra-special events.  Because holidays are special, guests enjoy many festive decorations and characters throughout the park, and who knows who, or what, you may run into. Be sure to make your Orlando Fl hotel reservations today as many of the hotels in the Orlando area do fill up quite fast especially in December.

Relaxing in Florida

July 13th, 2011

Vacations are that one time during the year that everyone can look forward to. You get to enjoy some downtime with your family, explore different parts of the world, and visit fabulous shops and delicious restaurants. While a vacation can be incredibly enjoyable, it can also take a toll on our stress levels. Between planning the trip and finding out how much it is all going to cost, many people will feel weighed down and strained. There is hope though. Florida is full of many amazing spas and resorts where you can feel rejuvenated and bask in indulgent services. Also, if you decide to rent a fabulous Terra Verde resort, you will be able to have a comfortable place to rest your head after all of the day’s activities.

One amazing spa to pay a visit to if you’re feeling under the weather is the Lighthouse Resort and Day Spa. This incredible 4,600 sq.ft. European style spa specializes in many spa services that will leave you feeling refreshed and pampered. Pick from their list of deep, therapeutic massages or receive a facial, skin care, or wax. You can also enjoy a manicure or bask in their steam rooms.

Another great spa in the area worth checking out is called the Papillion Spa. This upscale and attractive spa’s attentive staff will accommodate all of your needs and make you feel right at home. Their vast list of spa services offers something for everyone, so sit back, close your eyes, and get whisked away to your happy place.

The best part is, all of these amazing spas are right near Disney! So while the kids are off having a great time, you can relax. After you spend the day getting pampered, you can retire to one of the cozy Disney hotels available. You will not have to worry about stressing out during your trip. After all, it is your vacation!

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort Text Deals

August 30th, 2009

If you love getting in on the latest deals, then, you will love Disney’s newest program aimed at guests of both the Walt Disney World Swan and the Dolphin Resort at Disney. It’s estimated that over eighty five percent of Americans have a cell phone so the program will be available to the majority of guests staying at the Walt Disney World Swan or Disney’s Dolphin Resort.  You must have text messaging enabled on your cellular device to participate since that is how Disney sends out the deals to its patrons. Deals include price reductions at the resorts’ spas, restaurants and lounges. The price breaks are larger than what the general public would receive so these deals are truly exclusive to visitors at Disney’s Swan or Dolphin Resort.

The Disney Text service also keeps patrons updated on hotels updates as well and if you choose not to receive the text messages any more, you can cancel the service at any time.

Disney remains on the cutting edge of technology. They are constantly looking for new opportunities to provide vacationers with the best Disney Vacation. They already have an application that keeps visitors up to date on wait times for their attractions at all of their major parks (Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot).

I have not tried this text messaging service as of yet, but I do know that I like to travel light while on vacation, and when, I am at the theme parks I try to carry as little as possible. My wife on the other hand can’t resist a deal. So I can see her checking her cell phone every now and then to see if she has any new messages. To me it makes the most sense for people at the resort to take advantage of the timely deals. If you happen to be at the parks, you may miss out on some of the deals.
